Madiba honoured by Blatter

The countdown to the 2010 finals is well and truly on, and with our offices overlooking the stadium, you can count on 94.5 KFM to keep you updated. News anchor Bobby Brown, above, keeps and eye on the stadiums rise.

Former South African president Nelson Mandela was called the 'architect' behind South Africas hosting of the 2010 World Cup finals yesterday. FIFA president Sepp Blatter presented him with a replica of the World Cup trophy. Blatter said that without Mandela's stature it would have been unlikely South Africa would have become the first African country to win the right to host the finals! . Blatter is wrapping up an inspection visit to the country, and has been pleased with the progress that he has seen. The only negative was his comments on how little Bafana Bafana have improved, and Blatter added that the national team needs to start showing an urgent improvement in form in order to be a proud representative of the host nation in 2010.
